Greg’s Kitchen on Main St. in the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadephia is a must go place to grab some coffee and breakfast/brunch.  Greg’s is a cute and cozy place at the end of Main St. across from the Firehouse. Expect a wait on Saturday and Sunday for breakfast, but it is well worth it. Greg’s Kitchen is very efficient and will take your number and text you when your table is ready.  The restaurant is too small to hang around in, but this gives you an option to stroll around Main Street while you are waiting.

As for the food, it has been excellent every time. They have a nice breakfast menu with good specials as well that change all the time.  I have ordered the pancake special on both of my visits, but that’s because I live for pancakes!  The first time I enjoyed the peach and pecan pancakes.  Fresh, hot, and delicious with tons of fresh peaches and toasted pecans.  The pancakes also have a nice dab of light and fresh whipped cream on the plate. Of course we ordered a side of bacon and tater tots (because really, who wouldn’t?).

The pancake special this past weekend was the “Choco-coco-blue-blue pancakes. Yes it was fun to say! These pancakes were loaded with fresh blueberries and chocolate chips…but wait…there is even more…they sprinkled a ton of coconut on top! These pancakes were my favorite of the two. Of course we ordered a side of bacon and tater tots (again…who wouldn’t?)!

My girlfriend ordered the challah french toast as it’s her favorite. Huge portion!  The french toast is well soaked in the custard but not soggy or too eggy.  Great sear from the griddle with a snow storm of powdered sugar.  Served with a cute little carafe of syrup. No surprise from our review…we will be back and often.
